Benghazi – Wednesday, 17 December 2025 His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Abdelhadi Al-Hweij, chaired today, Wednesday, 17 December 2025, the thirty-sixth regular meeting of Directors of Departments and Technical Offices, held at the Ministry’s headquarters in the city of Benghazi. The meeting began with the approval of the minutes of the previous meeting, followed by discussions on a number of organizational and administrative matters. Chief among these were a review of the proposed strategic plans for the year 2026, as well as an evaluation of the annual reports submitted by the relevant departments and offices, highlighting the activities and achievements accomplished during 2025. The meeting also addressed ways to facilitate the work of international organizations operating in Libya and to provide the necessary support to enable them to carry out their duties, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations. In addition, participants discussed the status of foreign community schools, emphasizing the need to rectify their legal and administrative situations and to regulate their operations. In the same context, mechanisms for monitoring consular affairs offices through the Department of Consular Affairs were examined, with the aim of enhancing performance and improving the quality of consular services provided. This meeting comes within the framework of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s commitment to strengthening institutional work and developing administrative and technical performance, in a manner that contributes to the implementation of the Ministry’s vision and the achievement of its strategic objectives.
