Benghazi – Wednesday, 17 December 2025 His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Abdulhadi Al-Huwaij, chaired this morning the second meeting of the Main Committee concerned with the regularization of the status of Sudanese brothers, held at the Ministry’s headquarters. At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency delivered a welcoming address to the committee members and representatives of the relevant entities, expressing his appreciation for their attendance and cooperation. He emphasized the importance of integrating efforts among all concerned institutions to ensure the success of the committee’s work and to achieve its humanitarian and organizational objectives. The meeting addressed a number of key issues related to the committee’s mechanisms of work and its competencies. Committee members presented detailed interventions within the scope of their respective institutional responsibilities, contributing to the acceleration of procedures and the processing of files related to the regularization of the status of Sudanese brothers. His Excellency stressed the necessity of expediting the completion of the committee’s tasks in light of time constraints, commending the efforts exerted by the participating entities. In this context, he also underscored the pivotal role played by the Libyan Arab Armed Forces in supporting and ensuring the success of this process, in a manner that serves the public interest and reflects the State’s commitment to the humanitarian dimension. At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to adopt a unified health certificate to be included among the residency requirements and procedures. This certificate shall be approved by all official entities under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Health, ensuring the unification and regulation of procedures in accordance with the applicable legal frameworks.
