Tangier – Kingdom of Morocco, Thursday, 27 November 2025 His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government, Dr. Abdulhadi Al-Hwaij, met with His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad of the Republic of Niger, Mr. Bakary Sangaré, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Niger to the Kingdom of Morocco, His Excellency Mr. Abdallah Keita. The meeting reviewed the trajectory of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to further develop them, in addition to discussing the latest developments in joint coordination on issues of mutual interest, reflecting the genuine willingness of both sides to enhance political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation. During the meeting, the Nigerien Foreign Minister informed his Libyan counterpart of the decision issued by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Niger to appoint two consuls for Niger in the State of Libya—one in the city of Benghazi and another in the city of Sabha. This official step underscores the strength of relations between the two countries and Niger’s commitment to expanding its consular presence and improving the services provided to its citizens, thereby strengthening shared ties and bilateral cooperation across various fields. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the MEDays International Forum, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in Tangier, which serves as a distinguished platform for dialogue and consultation among African nations and partner countries.
