In implementation of the Decision of the Prime Minister No. (201) of 2025, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Abdelhadi Al-Hwaij, chaired this morning the sixth meeting of the committee tasked with overseeing the voluntary repatriation program for displaced Sudanese brothers. The meeting was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Sudan in Benghazi, representatives of the national entities that are members of the committee, and a number of international and humanitarian organizations concerned with migration and displacement. The meeting was dedicated to reviewing the latest updates regarding the implementation of the voluntary repatriation program, based on the reports submitted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Sudan, in addition to discussing ways to enhance international organizations’ support for the program to ensure a safe and dignified return of Sudanese displaced persons to their homeland. Participants also discussed several organizational and procedural aspects aimed at accelerating the implementation of the program’s phases and strengthening coordination among national institutions and international partners, contributing to effective follow-up of progress in the upcoming period. This meeting comes as part of the continuous efforts of the Libyan government in the humanitarian field and in regulating the conditions of displaced persons, reaffirming its commitment to supporting regional and humanitarian stability.
