Committee in Charge of the Voluntary Repatriation Program for Sudanese Nationals Holds Its Fourth Meeting at the Headquarters of the Libyan Relief and Humanitarian Aid Agency Benghazi – Wednesday, November 5, 2025 In implementation of the Decision of the Prime Minister No. (201) of 2025, His Excellency Dr. Abdelhadi Al-Huwaij, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government, chaired this morning the fourth meeting of the committee tasked with following up on the implementation of the Voluntary Repatriation Program for Displaced Sudanese Nationals. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Libyan Relief and Humanitarian Aid Agency in Benghazi. The meeting was attended by representatives of the relevant national authorities. Participants reviewed the memorandum submitted by the Secretary-General of the Libyan Red Crescent regarding the resumption of the electronic platform dedicated to the program. The discussions also addressed mechanisms to encourage the continuation of the voluntary repatriation of Sudanese brothers and sisters. During the meeting, the committee called on international organizations to provide support for this program in the coming month, emphasizing their humanitarian role and responsibilities toward displaced Sudanese nationals. The meeting concluded with the decision to hold the next session on November 15, 2025, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Libyan Red Crescent, with the participation of representatives from international organizations and the Sudanese Consulate. It was also agreed to organize a field visit to the city of Al-Kufra to assess the humanitarian situation there and to facilitate procedures for Sudanese residents. Furthermore, the committee underscored the necessity of accrediting health certificates through the Ministry of Health and the National Development Agency, reviewing the Prime Minister’s Decision No. (16) of 2012 concerning the southern regions, and accelerating the regularization of displaced Sudanese nationals who have employment opportunities in Libya.
