Benghazi – Thursday, 30 April 2026 The first meeting of the committee responsible for the admission of new diplomatic attachés to the Diplomatic Institute for the academic year (2026–2027) was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government. This comes in implementation of the decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation No. (36) of 2026 regarding the reconstitution of the committee. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Ambassador Abdul Salam Al-Raqeie, Head of the Committee, in the presence of its members. It was dedicated to discussing several key items related to the progress of the admission process. The agenda included an evaluation of the previous cohort’s experience, early preparations to ensure readiness of admission procedures, defining roles and responsibilities, and establishing mechanisms to address overcrowding and exceptional cases. It also covered organizing admission procedures in accordance with the approved conditions and standards, as well as reviewing proposals for development and improvement. This meeting comes within the framework of early preparations for the implementation of the admission process efficiently and effectively, reflecting the committee’s commitment to enhancing institutional performance and presenting a modern model in preparing and qualifying diplomatic cadres, in support of the political and consular work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
