Benghazi – 29 April 2026 As part of the regular follow-up of work progress and performance evaluation within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Abdulhadi Ibrahim Al-Huwij, chaired this morning, Wednesday, the eighth periodic meeting with directors of departments and technical offices. The meeting was held to review the implementation levels of the ministry’s work plans and projects during the previous period. The meeting witnessed a review of the agendas of various departments, assessing progress rates and identifying existing challenges, in addition to discussing mechanisms to motivate staff in order to enhance the quality of performance and improve institutional efficiency. The session also addressed several key files, including international cooperation, where the Minister instructed that monthly regular meetings be held bringing together international cooperation officials from various ministries and agencies, in order to strengthen coordination and unify efforts at the governmental level. Regarding the work of international organizations, His Excellency emphasized the importance of regulating their activities within Libya and ensuring their compliance with applicable legal frameworks, particularly within the areas under the authority of the Libyan Government, while stressing that no violations in this regard will be tolerated. On the development of media performance, the meeting discussed the plan of the Media Office to enhance media and digital diplomacy, integrating it as a fundamental component of modern diplomatic tools and a key pillar of soft power. It was also agreed to intensify the organization of political salons in coordination with the Office of Advisors, at a rate of two sessions per month, in order to support political and intellectual dialogue and contribute to enriching the decision-making process. In the human resources development track, the meeting reviewed several training initiatives, where the Minister directed that all necessary resources be provided to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of the 2026 training plan. In conclusion, participants emphasized the need to accelerate the pace of work and strengthen integration among departments, in a way that consolidates governance principles and enhances institutional performance of the ministry, within a vision aimed at building a more efficient and effective diplomatic apparatus.
