Benghazi – Tuesday, April 28, 2026 Chaired by H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government, Dr. Abdulhadi Al-Hweij, and attended by the directors of the Ministry’s political departments, a meeting was held to discuss the workflow mechanisms within the concerned departments and to review the progress achieved in carrying out their tasks and responsibilities during the past period. At the outset, H.E. the Minister delivered a welcoming speech to the directors of the political departments, commending their dedicated efforts and the accomplishments achieved in the context of enhancing institutional performance and improving the level of diplomatic work. The meeting addressed several organizational and administrative aspects related to the functioning of the political departments, as well as ways to overcome the challenges they face, in order to enhance efficiency and achieve the desired objectives. It also included a presentation by the Director of the African Affairs Department on a number of reports concerning African countries, foremost among them recent developments in the Republic of Mali and their implications for neighboring states. Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the future strategic plans of each department, highlighting key challenges faced by some departments and presenting practical proposals to address them effectively. The meeting also touched on the field visits conducted to monitor the progress of secondary and primary school examinations for students of the Sudanese community.
