Benghazi – Tuesday, April 14, 2026 His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government, Dr. Abdulhadi Al-Hweij, chaired the fifth meeting of the Political Departments, within the framework of strengthening institutional coordination and following up on the implementation of approved plans, with the participation of the directors of the concerned departments. The meeting commenced with the approval of the minutes of the previous session, before moving on to discuss the timelines for the second quarter of the year. Department directors reviewed the level of progress achieved, as well as the challenges facing certain tasks, and presented development proposals aimed at improving performance and keeping pace with political developments and the Ministry’s strategic directions. The meeting also addressed ways to enhance political and administrative performance, emphasizing the importance of investing in the qualification and training of staff to improve efficiency and quality of work. Participants further discussed prospects for developing bilateral relations with a number of brotherly and friendly countries, contributing to strengthening Libya’s presence and consolidating its role at both the regional and international levels.
