Benghazi – Monday, 16 February 2026 The Director of the Protocol Office in Benghazi, affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government, Mr. Adel Al-Farsi, received His Excellency the Consul General of the State of Palestine, Mr. Imad Al-Ataili, at the office headquarters in the city of Benghazi, within the framework of strengthening channels of communication and coordination with consular missions accredited to Libya. The meeting addressed ways to further develop prospects for joint cooperation and coordination between the two sides, in addition to discussing mechanisms aimed at facilitating consular procedures and improving the quality of services provided to members of the Palestinian community residing in Libya. This would ensure the smooth processing of their transactions and the provision of appropriate conditions for benefiting from various consular services in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory frameworks. For his part, the Consul General commended the efforts undertaken by Libyan national institutions in consolidating security and stability, which have contributed to creating a suitable environment for the work of diplomatic and consular missions. He emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultation in a manner that strengthens the fraternal and historical ties between the Libyan and Palestinian peoples and serves the shared interests of both countries.
