Benghazi – Wednesday, 28 January 2026 His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Abdulhadi Al-Huweij, chaired this afternoon at the Ministry’s headquarters the preparatory meeting of the Committee responsible for granting permits for the operation of foreign organizations. This meeting comes within the framework of preparations to regulate the activities of foreign organizations operating in Libya during the year 2026, in a manner that ensures the unification of procedures, strengthens institutional coordination, and guarantees these organizations’ compliance with the applicable national laws and legislation. His Excellency emphasized the importance of organizing the work of foreign organizations in a way that serves the public interest, safeguards state sovereignty, and contributes to supporting stability and development, stressing the necessity of adhering to the approved legal and administrative regulations. The meeting also discussed mechanisms for developing the committee’s organizational performance and establishing clear foundations for cooperation with foreign organizations, in order to achieve humanitarian and developmental objectives in line with the vision of the Libyan government and its national priorities.
