The Head of the Libyan Audit Bureau, Dr. Omar Abdelrabboh Saleh, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government, Dr. Abdelhadi Al-Hweij, in the context of discussing ways to enhance institutional cooperation between the Audit Bureau and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The meeting addressed prospects for cooperation between the two sides, particularly with regard to the memberships of the Libyan Audit Bureau in regional and international organizations, and the importance of leveraging these memberships to exchange expertise and strengthen joint institutional work with counterpart bodies. During the meeting, the Audit Bureau’s 2024 report was also reviewed, including observations related to a number of public institutions, among them the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The Head of the Audit Bureau commended the level of interaction and the professional responses provided by the Ministry regarding the observations contained in the report. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to the principles of transparency and disclosure, and its keenness to fully cooperate with oversight bodies, foremost among them the Audit Bureau and the Administrative Control Authority, in a manner that enhances financial and administrative governance and improves institutional performance efficiency. For his part, the Head of the Audit Bureau praised the annual performance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as the clear and time-bound action plan it has prepared for 2026, considering this to reflect the Ministry’s clarity of institutional vision and the alignment of its work with the priorities and constants of Libyan foreign policy.
